Inspectors and Other Positions

We are often looking for suitably qualified staff to fulfil our growing portfolio of inspection works across various industries.

While we mainly work in the Agri Food sector in Ireland, we also work with clients in other sectors: 

  • Sustainability Sectors
  • Re-Cycling and Enforcement
  • Pollution Control and Enforcement

These roles offer a degree of flexibility and the ability to work at your own pace. You need to be self motivated, with a keen eye for detail and capable of organising your own schedules.

Becoming a Bord Bia Farm Inspector: Is it for you?

The role of a Bord Bia farm inspector suits people looking for flexibility in their work / life balance, such as (but not limited to) the following.

  • People who like interacting with other farmers and who enjoy an outdoor, varied life.
  • Young farmers who may be involved in the family farm but who may need / want something outside of that.
  • Part time farmers who may need / want something to supplement their income.
  • Farmers partners / wives who may be involved in the family farm but who may need / want something extra.

If the above sounds like it's for you, then here are a few criteria you'll need to fulfil to be considered.

  • Preferably have an Ag Science Degree or Equivalent Qualification
  • Have Relevant Farming Experience in the Beef, Lamb and Dairy sectors
  • Be fully Computer Literate
  • Driving Licence with own Transport
  • Have Excellent Communication Skills, both Verbal and Written.
  • Be from a Geographic Location that matches our needs. 

THE INSPECTION STANDARD

ISO 17020

If successful, you would be inspecting Irish beef, lamb and dairy farms to various Bord Bia Sustainable Assurance  Standards under our ISO 17020 Inspection Body Accreditation.

This standard requires several steps necessary for formal authorisation by us to allow you conduct inspections on our behalf.
